History
Apex Chamber of Commerce & Industry of NCT Delhi formerly known as Delhi Chamber of Commerce & Industry was founded in 2006 as a non-profit social organization registered under Section 25 of the Companies Act, 1956.
Apex Chamber of Commerce & Industry of NCT Delhi is the collective voice of trade and industry community in the National Capital Territory of Delhi. The elective executive committee of the Apex Chamber serves as a representative voice for the trade and industry. It maintains an open dialogue with the government of Delhi on topical trade and industry related issues whilst representing the needs of our members.
Year 2004 is the memorable year for the chamber. During this year the Municipal Corporation of Delhi implemented a long awaited self assessment Unit Area Method for charging property tax. The property used for trade and industry were categorized to pay heavy taxes. The community jointly and collectively rose up on a common platform against it and consequently a Delhi Property Tax Action Committee was formed under the chairmanship of Mr. Kapil Chopra. It was the first time when the trade and industry community from Delhi raised a common voice from a common platform. It took almost a year to persuade through various dialogues to make the authority understand and realize the point of view of this community in their favor.
After this success, the joint and collective power of a common platform was felt so enthusiastically that the “Apex Chamber of Commerce and Industry of NCT Delhi” came in to existence on the 16th September, 2005.
